Aside from being labeled Minnesota's "Aquaman" or simply "Coach Blake", a beloved term was sweetly uttered to me in 2011
by my 4-year-old student: "Mr. Blake".
Ever since, those whom I serve have known me by those two simple yet sentimental words----and it's changed my life.
Whether it was managing an aquatics department, supervising a pool, or being waist-deep in water mentoring and instructing,
my 20 years of experience in the aquatics industry has taught me compassion tempered by trust impacts countless lives.
The meaningful relationships I've forged and magic I've conjured with hundreds of students and their families has added immense value to my life and changed the lives of countless others.
I have found unparalleled purpose and privilege in being "Mr. Blake", which was further affirmed after being awarded
Minnesota's Aquatics Instructor of the Year
only 9 months after founding this swim academy.

Adaptive Swim Lessons
$75 per 30-minute lesson
Customized lessons for individuals with either physical or cognitive disabilities.
Mr. Blake's Swim Academy facilitates swim lessons using techniques that place emphasis on water safety and swimming skills modified or adapted to accommodate individual abilities, needs, and goals, regardless of age or experience. Lessons are created for, but not limited to, those with anxiety, physical, sensory, communication or behavioral challenges.
Neurotypical Swim Lessons
$75 per 30-minute lesson
For individuals who don't require adaptive services, Mr. Blake's Swim Academy teaches everything from water acclimation to competitive swimming. Whether you're an athlete or dipping your toes into the water for the first time, it's important to tap into your full potential. All ages and abilities are welcome!
